City Credit Union offers a variety of services to protect against an overdraft (meaning more money is spent than what is in the bank account) and the associated bank overdraft fees charged to cover that amount.
Don’t let the hassle and expense of overdraft fees add to your plate! For unexpected or emergency situations, CCU’s secure banking services include three types of overdraft protection services.
Emergency expenses can drain your account quickly. When your checking account balance is insufficient, automatic withdrawal allows us to use funds from your savings account to pay the remaining amount due. Enroll today to protect against the overdraft fees you’d encounter otherwise.
If you would rather not use the funds in your savings account to cover the balance, you can instead apply for flex loans that close the gap in your checking account. The flex loan option creates a reusable line of credit with no cost to use the service. And, like almost every other loan, you would pay interest on the money borrowed.
Federal legislation requires City Credit Union account holders choose to opt-in to these bank account protection services. Please contact us directly at (816) 252-2415 regarding Account Protection.
